Usaavlabs Technical Report 66-36 Flight Test Evaluation of a Distributed Suction High-lift Boundary Layer Control System on a Modified L-19 Liaison Aircraft

چکیده
A distributed suction i1igh-lift boundary layer control system fitted to a standard liaison L-19 aircraft incre~sed the aircraft c 1 max to 5.74 and decreased the take-off and landing distance over a 50-foot obstacle by 38 percent and 29 percent, respectively, with no increase in available power. The modified aircraft demonstrated acceptable stability, control, and handling characteristics in all flight phases, and the stalling characteristics were good, with no rolling tendency. Considerable structural modifications were necessary to obtain the above results. The small holes in the boundary layer control system operated quite successfully for a period of 5 years without clogging due to dust or rain .

Usatrecom Technical Report 65-16 the Marvel Report Part E a Unique Solution to the Problem of Obtaining Two-dimensional Boundary Layer Data on the Variable-camber High-lift Wings of the Marvelette Aircraft
This paper reports on the design, construction, Instrumentation and preliminary testing performed on the high-lift wing of the MARVELETTE aircraft in a two-dimensional wind tunnel. The wind tunnel,12 feet high and 2 feet 9 inches wide, was fitted over a section of the aircraft wing to the shrouded propeller at the rear of the vehicle. When operating with this arrangement, wind tunnel velocities ...

The feasibility of using a stand alone Fluidic Thrust-Vectoring (FTV) system for the purpose of longitudinal trim of an unmanned aerial vehicle is the focus of the research presented in this paper. Since the fluidic thrust vectoring requires high pressure secondary air to deflect the engine exhaust gases, this research also provides an analytical toolset for preliminary sizing of a suitable sec...
متن کاملTracking Control of Uncertain Non - Iinear MIMO System Using Modified Sliding Surfaces for Attitude Large Maneuver of Satellites on Orbit
Designing a robust tracking control for a non-linear MIMO system with uncertainty is one of the most complicated control problems. In this paper, sliding mode changed to non-linear controllable canonical form by input-output linearization. This, sliding surfaces can be defined in a way that we can de-couple equations and indicate the sliding conditions of multi-variable controller system. The u...
